Nearby Calvi hosts a Monday market and holidaymakers wanting to shop till they drop are only 12km from the island's capital city Palma. Palma Nova is a 21km transfer from Palma airport.
Portals Nous is becoming increasingly popular with Irish tourists and is known to be a chic resort for those wanting a luxurious break in the sun. It has an attractive marina and nearby there is a well-kept golf course, making it a resort popular amongst families and couples. There are a number of smart restaurants around the marina and more along the main street. There is a small sandy beach in the resort, but the most popular beach is the larger artifical sandy cove next to the marina.
The warm shallow waters of Alcudia Bay make Playa de Muro very popular with families with young children, and many of the hotels here have the added benefit of a direct beach front access. The beach is without doubt a major attraction to this resort, with almost 8km of fine, clean sand, offering visitors a wide variety of water sport and other facilities to suit all tastes and abilities.
Puerto Pollensa is a quiet and peaceful resort that stretches along a sheltered horseshoe-shaped bay lined with sandy beaches on the north coast of Mallorca. Far quieter and more laid back than the exuberant resorts of Magalluf and Palma Nova, Puerto Pollensa attracts families and couples alike. Along the promenade you will find plenty of cafes, restaurants and tourist shops.
